Position:QUALITY ASSURANCE MANAGER
Department:Quality Assurance
Summary:We are seeking for an experienced HANDS ON Corporate Quality Assurance Manager. This position will be located in the company’s Boise Idaho plant.
Description:

Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

  • Drives continuous improvement programs throughout the organization to ensure that all products meet the intended use and user needs, while providing the greatest possible reliability and quality for all products shipped to customers.
  • Ensure that all facilities/plants are aligned with the strategic direction of the business with respect to product and operations quality; maintains and interprets quality control philosophy to all key personnel in organization.
  • Develops, implements and monitors a corporate wide closed-loop corrective action system and control process to ensure improved manufacturing processes and product performance.
  • Develops, implements and monitors data-driven quality goals/standards for each assembly/manufacturing facility for both existing and new products; serves as Quality Leader to ensure that quality goals/standards are fully met.
  • Develops, Implements and tracks leading as well as lagging quality scoring metrics (such as quality predictions, component count reduction, field reliability performance, etc.) to ensure manufacturing quality improvements.
  • Establishes metrics for the product performance to support and drive critical behaviors and decision making related to quality; responsible for alignment of cross functional teams to ensure commonality and compliance with corporate quality goals and metrics.
  • Manages failure and root cause analyses and investigates all quality concerns/issues; reviews customer and consumer complaints and provides corrective actions as applicable.
  • Actively engages in and supports the corporate wide product and component sourcing and supplier qualification processes ensuring that all suppliers of materials and components strictly adhere to corporate quality standards; performs First Article Inspections and on-site product quality inspections.
  • Develops and implements process validation protocols, including critical manufacturing process parameters and the validation of required sampling/procedures and analytical testing.
  • Establishes and implements quality specifications and testing procedures for raw materials, packaging and finished products and is responsible for managing quality testing and ongoing monitoring.
  • Establishes an effective vendor quality audit process and educates vendors relative to compliance with established inspection standards to meet company quality requirements; acts as liaison with vendors regarding all supplier quality issues/problems.
  • Maintains and assesses competitive quality assessments/trends.
  • Provides technical assistance to the purchasing department with regard to the purchase of raw materials, supplies and equipment.
  • Conducts on-site internal and supplier quality audits to verify that procedures are followed according to quality assurance standards, appropriately documents the results and prepares and presents routine and ad-hoc quality reports.
  • Provides support for the recall of non-conforming materials, investigations associated with product complaints.
  • Conducts in line and final quality control inspection and creates documentation and reports to support findings.
  • Participates in and directs workers engaged in inspection to ensure continuous control over materials, facilities and products and efficient workflow and quick processing time.
  • Initiates debit notes for non compliant/quality control defects.
  • Works closely with development teams to analyze product specifications, determine present standards and establish proposed quality and reliability expectancy for finished products.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Quality Assurance, Quality Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or related discipline.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of recent, verifiable HANDS ON Quality Assurance experience in a manufacturing environment; two (2) years of which must have been in a supervisory capacity.
  • Comprehensive understanding of product development and manufacturing processes
  • Knowledge of compliance requirements for product manufacturing
  • Knowledge of tracking and trending of Quality systems including deviations, non-conformance and CAPA
  • Working knowledge of CMM/ MicroVu or similar equipment; programming ability highly desired
  • Ability to expertly use of a variety of QA control and measurement tools and machining and lab equipment
  • Keen analytical abilities
  • Ability to design work flows and procedures

  • Outstanding problem solving skills
  • Ability to lead cross functional teams and problem solving sessions
  • Ability to effectively solicit the active involvement, engagement and support of various levels of staff in the fulfillment of the corporate quality charter
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Outstanding computer skills, including MS Excel, MS Word & PowerPoint
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines
  • Ability to travel to company facilities located in California, Idaho, Texas, Pennsylvania, Canada and Shanghai
  • Excellent negotiation and persuasive skills
