IGGA Selects Priest as Kuzmick Award Winner

Bob Priest, general manager at Sanders Saws, is the 2006 recipient of the International Grooving and Grinding Association’s most prestigious honor—the Lester F. Kuzmick Award.

The award, dedicated at the IGGA’s Annual Meeting, Nov. 28 in Orlando, Fla., recognizes individuals, companies and organizations for excellence in the grooving, grinding and concrete pavement restoration (CPR) industry. Priest has spearheaded Sanders Saws, a leading saw and blade supplier, since 1983.

"I am flattered to receive the Lester F. Kuzmick Award and appreciate the opportunity to continue to promote the excellent work of the IGGA, its members, and board of directors,” he said.

Priest is credited with numerous influential achievements, including the development of Concrete Pavement Restoration (CPR) and advancing it through hundreds of seminars and demonstrations to the Federal Highway Administration and state Departments of Transportation in the late 1970s and early 1980s.

In addition, he has served on the board of directors at the IGGA, American Concrete Pavement Association, Associated Pennsylvania Constructors, and the Pennsylvania Transportation Construction Industry as well as chairman of several other industry committees.

Priest acquired Sanders Saws in 1983, after spending years with Target Products, Norton Construction Products, and Pavement Specialist Inc. In 2001, Sanders Saws was purchased by Multiquip Inc.
