Stone covers a wide variety of materials ranging from granite, river rock, marble, and blue stone, to name a few. Most of the material is quarried, mined or found in open fields with the majority being thin veneered. Thin veneering is a method of sawing the stone to a given thickness, which is to be used as decorative building stone. There are many types of machines and blade sizes to cover the wide variety of material to be cut.

Thin veneer is the sawing of natural stone to a given width approximately 1.5" thick and at a lightweight of 15lbs. per sq.ft. can be applied to projects without a bed ledge. Several state of the art machine's are built for this application. Most machines will accept two 40" (1016mm) diameter blades, and some are able to saw corners stone pieces. For correct Stone sawing blade specification, the material type, machine manufacturer, arbor configuration, and blade shaft RPM is required.
