The World of Concrete 2006 seemed an appropriate venue to celebrate the global rise of Multiquip.

The Carson, California-based equipment manufacturer's export business has more than doubled since 2003 in large part thanks to the efforts of a dedicated international dealer network spanning seven continents and more than 60 countries.

Many of those who can take credit for establishing Multiquip as a growing force in light- and medium-sized construction were honored with achievement awards Jan. 18 in Las Vegas.

"The annual Export Distributor dinner provides the opportunity for our valued dealers to come together and share ideas and develop friendships based on their common bond forged by representing Multiquip products," said Steven Spence, Multiquip's international sales director for Australia, New Zealand and India. "The wonderful social atmosphere is Multiquip's way of thanking and honoring our export distributors as well as giving our export department an opportunity to personally meet the customers we deal with on a regular basis."

Dealers from Argentina and Australia to Japan and Jamaica, and everywhere in between, were at the event as well as representatives from the US Department of Commerce. Multiquip's international dealers now supply concrete and masonry products, compaction equipment, light towers, dewatering pumps and much more to local building professionals engaged in a wide range of construction and entertainment-related projects.

In attendance at the Jan. 18 celebration were Ron Bain from Rock Crete in Canada, Jose Maria and Angle Martin del Campo, Grupo MC (Mexico), Carlos and Mr. and Mrs. Martin Reyna, Shecsa (Mexico), Norberto Bonilla, Pablo Siman and Juan Carlos Aquino, Construmarket de Nicaragua (Nicaragua), Allen Krebs, Multiequipos de Guatemala (Guatemala), Howard and Verónica Ward, Wards Power Tools (Jamaica), Boris, Cynthia and George D'Juran (Trinidad & Tobago), and Robert Excellent, Francois Murat Excellent S.A.
